The uniPHARM Story

It really started pre-1980, when a small group of independent pharmacists travelled to Saskatoon to look at a wholesale drug company that fit what they envisioned for the B.C. marketplace. The founding fathers wanted a wholesale that would cater to the needs of independent pharmacy providing a fair and equitable deal no matter how small the volume. In July 1980, uniPHARM Wholesale Drugs was born. The share value at the time was $500.00.

The company initially serviced like-minded independents that had one common purpose – to have an equal voice in a wholesale that would deliver pharmaceuticals, OTC’s and other drug store related merchandise in a timely and competitive manner. The first order was picked and shipped in October 1980, and by 1984 our growth demanded more wholesale space, so the company purchased a 40,000 square foot building in Richmond, B.C.

By 2008, the share value had grown by more than 125 times giving original shareholders equity of $63,000 in the company. Since inception of the company the share value has grown at a rate of 20% compounded annually.

Ever since uniPHARM started in business, we have subscribed to the adage that if you under promise and over deliver your business will flourish. We echo that today. uniPHARM is innovative, strategic and cutting edge. We are a viable alternative to all other wholesalers and we consistently earn our Shareholder business every day.

uniPHARM has worked very hard to be the number one drug wholesaler to independent pharmacy in B.C. and Alberta. We are succeeding because of the support and commitment of our Shareholders. We believe that it is this unique vision and partnership that will sustain the future of both uniPHARM and independent pharmacy.
